Pain Management

This course covers the proper administration of paracetamol and methoxyflurane to relieve pain.
It includes information about the use, storage, and documentation of administration as well as ongoing monitoring of the casualty.

Further training in the administration of Nitrous Oxide is available upon request. 

It is recommended that participants undertake the online e-learning module prior to attending the face to face workshops for practice and assessment.

What certification do you get?

This is an accredited course. On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment in:

  • PUAEME008 Provide pain management

COURSE OUTLINE

The course covers the following:

  • Revision of provide first aid
  • Storage and documentation
  • Pain management
  • Analgesia

Please note that a current certificate for Provide First Aid HLTAID011 (not HLTAID003) is a prerequisite of this course. Evidence of currency in Provide First Aid is to be provided BEFORE the course by emailing it to bookings@stjohntas.org.au.
Failure to do so will result in not being able to attend.
