The flagship St John Ambulance first aid course covers a comprehensive range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to a casualty. It covers the most common first aid injuries and illnesses. It is suitable for both people in the workplace and members of the public who want training in First Aid (previously known as Senior First Aid, Workplace Level 2, and Apply First Aid). PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR)

The St John Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course gives you the skills to perform CPR on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally. You will require the knowledge and confidence to perform CPR on an adult, child and infant, to describe alternative methods for delivering rescue breaths and how to manage a victim of drowning. This remote area first aid course is specifically designed to meet the first aid needs of bushwalkers, wilderness guides, and people who work or live in remote locations. PROVIDE PAIN MANAGEMENT

This course covers the proper administration of paracetamol and methoxyflurane to relieve pain. It includes information about the use, storage and documentation of administration as well as ongoing monitoring of the casualty. MANAGE FIRST AID SERVICES AND RESOURCES

This course gives you the skills to perform risk assessments and determine your first aid needs in line with WHS legislations and the first aid codes of practice. PREPARE TO WORK SAFELY IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY (WHITE CARD)

Safety in the construction industry is of upmost importance. This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. Education and Care First Aid is a course specifically designed to meet the needs of people working in the childhood learning industry. This course is tailored towards anyone working with children. It covers child specific first aid in many high-risk areas such as anaphylaxis and asthma as well as common injuries and resuscitation. The Australian Children’s Education & Care Authority (ACEAQA) has endorsed the course as meeting their requirements for anaphylaxis, asthma and first aid training.
